I have a quick question about exhuast manifolds form the 90-93 accords. i know the f22a1 have a 4-1 cats manifold, the f22a4 a tubular 4-2-1, what does the f22a6 have? also if anyone has pictures that would be great.

a kid sold me his supposed f22a4 head with the IM and exhaust manifold. the new thing ive thought about is the f22a4 is supposed to be steel, the manifold i have is cast iron. its a 4-2-1 design but cast. did he give me an f22a6 manifold? or were there more than one f22a4 manifolds?

yes the a6 is a cast 4-2-1 desinge the a1 was the only cast 4-1 desine

 

thanks man. figured you might answer lol. that makes more sense now. thing is i wonder if he actually sold me an f22a6 head so then i would technically have the more aggressive cam. im gonna look more into this now. however i want a true f22a4 manifold now.

 

well something else about the f22a6 requires higher fuel press. than the f22a1/4...so keep that in mind. Yeah you got the better cam that cast mani should be really good too. The f22a6 is rated at 140hp if I remember correct.
But IMPO keep that cast mani and save up for bisi header don’t bother try to find a a4 mani. That should sit you at 165hp and then get a tune...you might just break 170hp. Send your cam to bisi and get a regrind be4 you get a tune...you will see some really really nice numbers.
