i got 1998 accord 4 cyl and want to put an intake in.I hear that itgive good gasmile. Does it really boost the horse and give good miles?

 

It can boost horsepower by anywhere from 5-10hp. It can also increase mileage. It does both by allowing a greater and less restricted airflow into the engine, and in some applications a denser charge as well.

 

I'd have to agree with Shadow ... Also, there are prob 10-15 different threads about air intakes and what they do.. may wanna look them up !

It can increase mileage, this is true. It can also decrease it if youre like me, and love the sound it makes when you give it the gas

oh what is the denser charge?

 

Denser charge simply means more air per cubic inch. Air is less dense when hot and denser when cold, so even though it may always be pulling x amount of cubic feet per minute of air, the colder(denser) air will have more molecules of oxygen for the engine to burn. Some SRI and a well designed CAI will pick up cooler air than a standard intake or badly designed SRI.
