Default Exhaust Decision; 2-inch or 2.25-inch?

96 Honda Accord, purchasing a catback exhaust system. Was originally recommended to install a 2.25 inch system, but was later told that 2.25 inch would be too loud and that 2 inch was more appropriate. Thanks.

is it a 4banger or a v6? because that makes a huge difference. a v6 would work better with a 2.25 and a 4 would be better with a 2.

2.5" minimum for the V6. I have a 2.5" on my F22

i wouldnt say 2.5min for the v6...I've got the new 3.5L and a 2.25in magnaflow system.

magnaflow is a respectable and reputable brand and they would not have used 2.25in piping unless it was better than other options for some reason. and it wasn't price, because the difference between 2.25in and 2.5 in piping for 10ft of pipe equates to a few dollars.
