Default Headers V6 Accord

Anyone else frustrated that we can't get headers for the V6?!?! I want to do so much more with the car, but it's like you had to get the 4 cylinder to even do mods. Of course, the 6 speed is better to start anyway, I'd rather have that. But I'm still frustrated there is nothing out there for it but a supercharger that is way overpriced and only makes, what, 40 more hp?

Why not find a good exhaust shop and get a pair made?

For the 03 model you can't get headers - it's the way it was designed that makes it impossible

Any decent exhaust shop will be able to build a set of headers.

It's not rocket science, just requires some knowledge of exhaust flow, pipe bending and welding skills.

If you want a decent set, then access to a flow bench and a dyno can help as well.

No, with the V-6 the exhaust ports are combined inside the head. So what you bolt onto the head amounts to just the collector.

In simple terms: the 2003 and up V6 does not have removable manifolds, therefore you cannot put headers on.

Sometimes Jimblake speaks "engineer" so it takes lamens terms for the less educated like myself

HAHAhaha....
how about a picture?
The warm-up catalyst #7 & #8 bolt directly to the head. The gasket #2 shows that there's no separate exhaust ports. Only one big hole on the side of each head.

You could get a custom exhaust done...then throw on a CAI. Then work on camgears, pulleys, etc.

That is very different.
I found a good photo of it: http://www.v6performance.net/gallery...19&limit=views

I've seen cast with the head intake runners, but never anything like that before for the exhaust in automotive applications.

Apprently the next generation of engines got a bit more power from improved head, intake and exhaust flow.
I wonder if you could take the head off, and get it flowed and ported, then use a custom exhaust with a 2-1 collector.

^^ That is so weird looking. I wonder why on earth Honda designed it that way.
