I'm buying a K&N soon and have been wondering what will be more beneficial for my car MPG wise, here are my options.

K&N Drop in box filter - $
K&N Full intake - $$$
Cone filter on stock intake tube - $$
Ebay intake pipe with a K&N cone filter. - $$

 

Drop-in filter. If you get any sort of intake I guarantee you'll want to rev it and drive a tad faster.

 

None of those will increase the fuel mileage.

 

CAI with a 1-1/4" restricor plate will help MPG ...... performance will be another story ..... kinda like forcing you to not hit the gas past ~30%

 

Get eather the full k&n intake or the ebay with the cone filter. It hardly affects MPG and plus you'll love the sound of it!

 

i kinda need the same help, i want increased performance on my v6, i dont know whether to get an AEM or a K&N. Plus i want a better sound from my motor when i speed

 

K&N and AEM both will make the same power and filter the same. Buy the cheaper of the two.

 

go cheap, a cia is a cia to a degree. dont strain urself. find a really cheap one, and buy a good filter

 

I agree. Those people that sell the intakes and claim your mileage will increase should be prosecuted for false advertisement. Anyone who has added an intake can vouch for that.
After I added my intake, my gas mileage dropped a little.

As far as a drop in K&N box filter, I can't tell you anything since I have never owned one. But I highly doubt it will give you any sort of a noticeable gain in performance OR better gas mileage.

If you want better gas mileage, keep your foot out of the throttle.

 

yea, like what falkore24 said, you will get a small increase in MPGs, but yur gonna be way more tempted to burn your fkin rubber. I got an AEM cold air intake two days ago and I love it. it was only $145 on eBay
