Default just installed intake

i just installed my aem v2 intake for my 05 accord v6 cpe. I was just wondering if it was normal for the check emissions light to come on? (i thought it was a transmission light but checked the handbook) how long does it take for the air/fuel ratio to sync? Is this bad for your car????

let me know

DId you reinstall or plug in the Mass Air Flow sensor? Check that first. I would also recommend getting the code read so we have a better idea of what's going on, even though it's probably from the intake.

yes i installed the mass flow sensor. at first, I noticed the light came on only @ WOT, but would go away under norma driving. However, i went WOT while racing with a buddy of mine and now the light is just always on. Heres what it says in my handbook.

"If the indicator comes on while driving, it means one of the engines emissions control systems may have a problem. Even though you may feel no difference in your vehicle's performance, it can reduce you fuel economy and cause increased emissions. Continued operation may cause serious damage.

If the indicator comes on repeatedly even though it may turn off as you continue driving, have the vehicle serviced immediately. If you keep driving with the malfunction indicator lamp on, you can damage your vehicles emissions controls and the engine. Those repairs may not be covered by your vehicle's warranty"

everything seems fine while driving, but im starting to get worried since that light isn't going away.

Update:

disconnected and reconnected the battery = light gone. (not so sure if this is the fix i want)

I took it for a 5 min drive, going WOT several times and the light never came on. Will take it for longer drive l8r

Yeah, if it comes back on you need to see what's triggering it. Otherwise, the ECU may have just needed to "learn" the new intake and by resetting the computer you initiated that.

i know how stupid this sounds but is your gas cap tightened all the way? That can make the emissions light come on...possibly its a lil picky about when it wants to set a code......
