whatsup guys. i have a question. I have a 1997 Honda Accord LX V6, i want to get a custom muffler installed (you knoone of those mufflers that make the car really loud as itdrives by?)but im not sure if i need the whole downpipe or what. and i also heard that some mufflers can have a negative effect on fuel consumption. is it true? but mainly i need to kno if i buy the muffler, do i need a bigger down pipe too?

 

if you just want the loud sound then all you need is a muffler. if you replace from the header back including the cat and take all the resonators and widen your pipe to like 2.25 then you get really loud. but if you dont' want to spend the extra money and just want the import sound then just add a muffler. adding a intake helps a little too.
