So i took my car to a shop to get the muffler replaced, they told me it would be 110 installed and new....



So I went to another shop he said he would sell me an exhaust tip for 40 bucks....thing is friggin huge. So i went back the other place and asked them how much it would cost them to install a tip and hack off the muffler. He said 50 bucks. So I had them hack off the muffler and lead the pipe out and slap the tip on it. Could this cause any problems, or was this a good idea? BTW my old muffler was full of holes, and im cheap...lol

 

lol. as long as the new muffler sealed on there good, i dont see a problem.

 

there is no muffler now, its just extended with a tip.

 

one problem i forsee is a real $h!++y sound... but if you like how it sounds then you shouldnt have any problems. if the tip was hung using the hanger the muffler was hung from then you should be good.

It actually sounds very good, it doesnt sound like a ricer.....if thats what you mean.

Its more of a deep grungy sound...and it hardly makes noise when im idleing. And yeah I made them use the old hangers. they just welded the hangers to it.
