Default Remove Airbox ?

I want my engine to sound deeper or louder. I dont care about the performance gains of an intake, I just want the sound. Can I remove my airbox and attach a cone filter to the end sort of like a SRI? Are there any dangers of doing this? And will I notice a sound difference?

Not sure what year your Accord is but sticking a cone filter onto the stock intake tube is kind of ridiculous. Jerry rigging at its best.

The problem with the idea is that the stock intake tube is rigid and it clamps onto the stock intake box. If you found a filter large enough to fit onto the stock intake tube you would not get a proper seal due to the design of the stock intake tube. This would result in sucking dirt a debris into your engine causing major issues. Just get a cheap kit off ebay. It would be better then sticking a filter onto the stock tube.

people put cone filters on stock intake hoses all the time. Iv even done it...you will notice SOme sound but not much. You can take a short piece pipe and two clamps to make your filter fit your stocker intake hose.

Hey im a college student making a living off delivering pizzas haha. I picked up a spectre cone filter for $20 and put it on in 5 minutes. It sounds really nice at 3k RPMS and feels quicker. But at idle, there is like a vacuum kinda sound. Any ideas what this is?

It's normal, you are hearing air pass the filter as the engine is not loud enough to drown the sound

Ahh ok. One more question, if I get a K&N cone filter, or one of those big performance brands, will I hear an even better sound? I want to hopefully hear a louder sound at lower RPMs. This is just temporary until I get the funds together to purchase an Injen CAI.

Doubt it. Can't really say for certain as I have never compared the two in your scenario. However, it is unlikely. You will notice a sizable difference in sound when you put an entirely new intake on as it changes "how" the air is forced to the engine.

Also: what year, engine size, trim is your Accord?
