Default so yeah the air filter

hey guys i got the air filter (for free)and i instal it in my accord. Just the air filter without the intake. Before when i have the stock air filter, my engine doesnt sound the loud it was smooth. Since i put the cirle air filter in, my engine sound louder and i love it. I was wondering do i need to reset my computer to make the air flow more smooth?

Um, what did you put the circle filter onto if you don't have an intake? About the computer, when I installed my AEM sri, I didn't reset the computer, because I didn't know you could. Eventually your ecu will reset itself to deal with the increased airflow, but since resetting is easy, I might just do it right now anyway. But I don't really think that you'll notice a difference after resetting the comp.

I was wondering the same thing. I would assume though, he simply remvoed the oem filter/filter box itself and used a hose clamp to the OEM tubing.

Sorry but I don't understand what you did or what you're asking. Could you try again with a little more detail?

oh ok
first of all the accord have the black box air filter right?
so i took it out and put the cirle air filter in (the kind that come with the intake)
it fit perfectly and didnt need the intake
and i feel that the car has more horse to it
i was wondering do i need to reset the computer so the air flow more smooth
cause i read from other forum said that when i change the intake or air filter i need to reset the computer so it cancalculate the flow of air
so what you guys thin>

and hazer89im not from valley, im from el monte

I'm wanna see a picture if your able to get one.

I'm wondering if you did what I was thinking of doing because my 05 accord has mass air sensor and aem/k&n doesn't seen kits for it yet except fujita. gotta check on tat...

so just taking out the stock air filter box and sticking a cone onto the stock tubing/pipping. hmmm

so yea. a picture would be nice thx

Instead of making a new post, ill continue on this one.
I think he replaced the OEM air filter with a circular or tube air filter. I read in a Acura/Honda engine manual tht is does help with horsey.

I think im goin to do the same. Get a preformance air filter and replace the one i have now which is stock. And hopefully it does add more sound like he said.

Has anyone else done this? Im surprised i dont hear much about doing this.

Eh, well it really doesnt do what an sri or cai does. It just makes it louder. The whole point of a cai/sri is to have a larger diameter of tubing made to reflect more heat and is tuned to the car. The high flow filter and actual intake work hand in hand to get a few HP.

SO they bothwork together, hand in hand. So more power toit. Why not, just a few bucks to add a few hp. Not bad. And it makes sound, which is what i really want.

Would you recommeny any filter in particular?
