ssh! i cant hear my car!!!
i've got an 05 v6 accord coupe. I've got a remote start on my car and when i fire it up from across the parking lot i wanna be able to hear my car! So i'd like to put some new mufflers under her. I'm not looking for more power, so i dont want to spend 800 clams on a cat back system. I just want to be able to HEAR my car and have it sound good when i drive. what's my best route for this modification? i'm pretty mechanical so i'd like to do the modification myself if possible, could this be a bolt on upgrade? What am i looking for in a muffler?
I would have to be honest and say that Im not fond of loud exhausts, unless there is some immense power behind it. That and i have been in cars where on long journeys the sound just resonates in your ears while cruising and generally makes the journey an annoyance. but if you want loudness, in my experience- scorpion and rage are LOUD.
but i would suggest something that only sounds loud when you floor it. and have a deep burble at idle - sebring, or remus tend to be pretty good for that.
(btw I live in the UK so dont know if the exhausts i mentioned are even available in the US)

dude most likely your car is going to sound like ****. its going to sound like a big *** fart going down the road your going to be embarrased. best advice i can give is spend a little extra money and have a resonator installed, aft of the cat but before the muffler 2.25 in/out. that will cut out the tin can sound that will also come along with an aftermarket muff.
