Test Pipe Legality Question

Default Test Pipe Legality Question

03' accord V6 has 3 cats on it. Two on on each exhaust manifold and one after the j pipe. If i put a test pipe on my 3rd and last cat, is it Illegal?

Short answer: yes. Long answer: no.

It really depends if your state does emissions testing. The gains are negligible for an OEM cat vs. Aftermarket High-Flow Cat vs. Test Pipe so it's really not worth it.

well they do but since its just on a flange i plan to take it off when i have to.....My friend did the same and he gained about 5hp at high rpm but lost at low due to of course backpressure. And it sounds amazing

like finch said state emissoin test=NO no state emission test=NO but doesnt matter

good article but hi flow cats cost a bit more than test pipes...i bought a Meagan Racing Test Pipe so ill see if i like it if not then ill definitly go with the hi flow

haha i will. Well i can pass emissions without it because the 02 sensor is right after the pre cats so its all good. I just got it so we will see how it sounds in a couple.

If you tinker with ANY emissions equipment you are in violation of federal law. Your call if it's worth it to you, damn sure not worth it to me!
