let us know how that megan works for you. I haven't heard a lot about their products and would like to hear some feedback on it.

I would say 2.5 is really maxing it out. Im sure its fine, but I like my 2.25.
2.5" is huge for a four banger! I think it is actually too big even on my car. I might take it back and get it reduced to 2.25" and see what differences there might be. It is my on of my friend's dads shop so he will even let me play around on his Dyno to get some real numbers.....

i heard that without the backpressure, a NA 4 cylinder car will lose out on torque
has anyone experienced this?
let's think about this. why would you Lose anything by upgrading these parts? youre going to Gain power and torque, not lose it. and that backpressure/torque thing is total bull****. im not gonna get into but, trust me it's false. true, too much flow will decrease velocity, but nothing you could ever buy. you would have to have a complete 3" catback all the way to the collector for that. any ebay header will be fine, and 2 1/4"-2 1/2" catkback will also be fine. thats why most after market catbacks (greddy, apexi, etc) all only use 60mm piping for our cars, which comes out to 2.36" right between the previously mentioned piping diameters. its perfect for our motors. as for intakes, the bigger the better. thats why they sell larger aftermarket throttle bodies.

I have an AEM shorty intake, a DCstainless 4-2-1 header, and factory stock exhaust. Since those mods were done I have slight torque steer in first gear when I romp on it (dry surface). In this particular case zero torque loss was noted, I'd say it was increased noting the torque steer which was totallynon existent prior to the bolt ons. I plan on a2.25 exhaust with an Apexi world sport muffler if the money evermaterializes to buy same. At that point will I experience torque loss? Well, it will be an expensive experiment to find out!

Read the effects of backpressure...ecspecially the bottom of it. Like I said earlier, each has a benefit at the sacrifice of the other.

that dood is retarded... engine back pressure works wonderfull for low end and horrid at high end... scavenging at low RPMs requires flow... if ur exhaust is big it lets the gasses cool to fast and doesent make them suck (the entire idea of scavenging) the next exhaust pulse out of the engine... back pressure isent the resistance to flow its the suction thats created... theres just alot of factors... but to base it all off...

less resistance... higher hp
more rotational mass higher torque less hp
more back pressure higher torque...

all of these have to come together and create power of ur engine... the balance is where tuning comes into play...

more back pressure higher torque...

Exactly. Loss of back pressure results from larger diameter of piping which = less torque.

where is the best place to have your car tuned after all the mods have been completed. would a honda dealer a good place or a performance garage or something a better choice? is there a software for your laptops for those too?
