I've been considering buying a 03 accord coupe (auto) but first I'd like to hear if there is anything I should know before buying it.
are there lots of common problems that accords have? because I've been hearing a lot about transmission failures and what do you think of an accord compared to a prelude?

I've heard that the 2003 Accord has some of the same AT issues as the 98-02 models did... but thats just what I heard.

What trim is the 01 Lude?

As long as its an 5 speed accord its good,stray away from the auto..

But nonetheless,i say prelude.

 

They are both good friends, I have friends that have both. The Accord has proven to be more reliable, the prelude is soon to be on its third motor, of course it does get quite a good beating from the driver.

 

Prelude definitely...the 03 Accord had a multitude of transmission recalls, over 700,000 actually. Accords are creme de la creme but in this situation id go with the lude.

 

Prelude I'm lookin at is auto/sport shift, SE but I've heard about the similar problem for preludes

 

Internetautoguide.com is the best website IMO for reading consumer reviews and recalls. Check it out. Since you say that the lude has recalls as well then i would say look for another gen of cars. If that is not an option then go with either/or bro and take a leap of faith. Good luck!!

98-02 automatic transmissions are absolute garbage and there is nothing that can be done about it.
