05 accord transmission problem
I have an 05 accord v6 I bought it a couple weeks ago with transmission problems I have to rev the engine up to get the transmission to start pulling but when it starts pulling I still have to rev the engine it gains speed but won't shift out all the way ,it whines real loud from around the transmission I put a new filter in and cleaned the solenoid but it didn't help, anybody have any ideas
@Jgenoe, I'm sorry to say this, but the H5 transmission in your car does not have the best reputation for reliability. Here are some comments which may or may not help:
The general direction those in the know use when this transmission acts up is to replace the 3rd and 4th gear pressure sensors (use OEM parts only) and to drain and refill the transmission 3 times (with a small amount of driving between each drain/refill cycle. If this doesn't work, then the transmission is more than likely toast.
If you do decide to opt to replace the transmission, there are a couple of approaches you can take:

- Have the transmission taken out and professionally remanufactured
- Have the transmission replaced with a professionally remanufactured unit
- Search the junk yards in your area for a 2006-2007 V6 Accord and buy the transmission from that car and have it put in yours. The transmission should have the BAYA manufacturing code stamped on it; this transmission is significantly upgraded over the earlier transmissions and considered to be the best of the H5 breed of transmissions.
