I'm brand new to the forums. I just bought a 1993 EX 4door last week ($575). I'm happy and looking to get started with mods once I understand the car better and make sure that it's mehanically sound.

Welcome to the forum, sounds like a good price for that car. What's your plans for it?

 

Well...my plans are to have a comfortable street rod that is awesome to look at and performs flawlessly. But again, my first concern is to make sure it's sound. I'm still trying to identify all of the squeaks and groans right now.

I had the oil changed the very next day and immediately after re-filling and checking the oil, it was still black. I think it's a miracle that this car runs as well as it does.

I've put approx 250 miles on it since then, and I'll change the oil again before it hits 500 miles (by the trip meter which I set at 0 once I put my plates on it).

I need to resolve issues with the drivers window not going up straight, and the passenger rear window not closing all the way...there is approx .25" that wont close.

Modifications in order (unless something breaks and it becomes a priority): upgrade lighting, short shifter, lower it, upgrade brakes, upgrade exhaust, upgrade intake, body work, paint, wheels. Who knows what will come to mind after that.

Question: that notchy, hesitant feel in the sheft lever when I engage first and second...is that fixable?
