Default 1998 Accord struts Trouble

Hello everyone, new guy here. I just installed new (sensen) struts on my 98 accord(4dr ex, 4cyl) and I ran into a problem a day after the install. I noticed alot of rattling whenever I hit the smallest bumps. I then noticed the hood moving at the same time. After creeping home I noticed the strut had pushed up and almost went through the hood. Has anyone had this issue off hand know what caused this? Obviously I did something wrong during the install. The right side seems fine but I havent been able to get in there and check things out. Im going to try to attach a pic of the problem. Thanks in advance for any help. Im really stuck right now.

I will PM the master at posting diagrams from the factory Service Manual and ask him to post up the proper way that strut should be mounted.

5 speed doesn't make a difference but was a SMART choice for a 6th gen trans as the autos have a terrible reliability problem.

Sounds good, Would it be possible to get the diagrams for the back struts also? I'm now paronoid I did that back struts wrong as well.

I think what threw me off is that the (Sensen) struts I purchased didnt look exactly like the factories and I probably put the boot kit on wrong along with other things. Thanks again all

Yea, that is going to have to come back off....then figure out what went wrong. Could be the strut mount (base) gave out?

Hate to be a bother but is there a diagram for the rear struts? The mishap with the front has made me second guess the back and the last thing I need is struts popping off driving down the road. I really dont want to mess with the back because it was such a pain but I prob need to check them out for peace of mind.

Thanks everyone for your help and advice.
