Default 1st time accord owner: 2006 lx coupe: should i change out rear brakes to disc?

man i'm about to become a happy camper

...i have a vw jetta that is (believe it) an '86...the darling's been good to me but is on her last legs...

so i realized i had to get a newer used car, so after doggedly searching day in day out i came across one owned by a mechanic (he goes between using this and his beater, given he's outdoors alot doing mtn biking)....its a 2006, lx accord coupe, 4 cylinder, manual (hey i'm single, want a coupe and love stick)..has 55000km on it for $12cdn (im in vancouver bc).

no accidents...he even replaced the shocks or springs with a better quality japanese model (forget) and added cold air intake...might even give me both all season and winter tires too. going to go see it and drive it on sunday...then if i like it will take to my mechanic for a full inspection...

compared to my 1986 jetta (which doesn't even have an airbag, lmfao) driving this baby will be like driving an acura nsx, lmfao

here is my question, however.
..i realize the rear brakes on the lx are drum, not disc...would you have someone convert them to disc, for better stopping power, or don't bother?...any other mods i could do to improve it's performance (not to race but for just enhanced driving pleasure and increased longevity.

many thanks for any helpful feedback

Welcome and thanks for joining.

Me, I'd leave the rear alone for now.....and enjoy the ride.
