Default 2006 honda accord lx

Hello All,

I purchased my first car which just so happens to be a 2006 Honda Accord LX, November of 2011 and have been satisfied with it thus far. I came on these forums to learn more about my car, how to properly maintain it, and have it last me for as long as possible. The mileage is currently at 106k.

I will post my specs in my signature. Thanks and look forward to posting some noob questions here soon enough.

Welcome! As I have said to some other new members recently, this forum is a really great place.

Congrats on your 7th gen Accord. I have one too (coupe, in sig) and its the best car I've ever owned. I do think the 7th gen will go down as one of the best Accord models (4th gen is still the best, I think, but opinions may vary).

Derek, thanks for reassuring my first car purchase ever. If there is any regret I've pondered after purchasing my car it would be on spending the extra money for a newer car or one with less miles. To date, I believe I've spent a good 2-3k in maintenance type services.

I'm fairly aggressive with maintenance on my Accord- I follow the schedule religiously and fix problems before they become bigger issues. While this is probably a little more money than most people spend, my car is in a known state to me. Were I to purchase a newer used car, I'd eventually end up spending money on upkeep and repairs anyway.

Put it another way, my car has 161,500 miles, and I wouldn't think twice about driving it to California tomorrow if I had to.
