I joined Honda-Tech, but have been searching for more information when I found this site.

About a year ago I purchased this 1982 Honda Accord and shortly there after the engine went. I just finished getting a 1.8L out of a Prelude into it along with a Carb Rebuild and new exhaust from the Resinator back.

Due to the condition I'm now looking at fully restoring it and fixing all the little and major things wrong.

damn that car is sick... i remember when my mom had an 83. your looks newer than 82 it looks like an 86 are you sure about the year? i thought the 82's only came in that green color? lol ....your car really is clean though good work

Yes, it's definitely an '82. '86 had the flipdown headlights, '85 was the last year of this body style with normal headlights.

And no, it's not an '85 either. :P

I bought it because of the body/interior. Had a burnt valve when I bought it, but it was so clean I couldn't pass it up.....

That's the Hatchback, they started the sedan in '82 I believe. '82 was the first year of the 2nd Gen Accords.

 

could you still get the hatch in 82/83?

 

ha and i remember the big 5 speed badge on the back cause that was the big option .

 

Mine has that 5 Speed Badge on the Passenger side under the Tail Light. :P
