90 Accord F22A4 rebuild shop?
Just bought a 1990 4 door EX with a blown rod and was wondering if there were any affordable reliable shops to rebuild the poor A4. I want this rebuild to be a one time deal and have it be good for another 200k. Was lookin to spend around 800-1200 to have it done. Any help would be great!

Welcome to HAF.
Personally - search online and I bet you can find a used motor for ~$400???? Spend ~$200 on new timing/balance shaft belts and wp -seals maybe - tune up items and call if a day.
If you are paying someone to do this, I bet they can get a used motor and do the tune up - timing blets and the install for around your $1200 figure?
Good luck and let us know what you find/do.

I was gonna go with he first option but I have no connections and finding a 20 year old engine that is reliably rebuilt has proved hard to find. Online prices have averaged 8-900 in my research. Which would still include my skills in installation, not the most reliable either. So for a shop to do it for 1200 would probably be a safer bet. the only problem is how do I know if the shop is not going to take risky shortcuts or anything?

Wow, prices on those engines has really gone up. My estimate on a shop doing it might be off a bit ?
You might call around to a few shops and see what they say.
See if you can get any reviews on local shops and go from there.
