'91 Beater
Hey guys...I just purchased my very first Honda Accord today...it's a '91 four-cylinder. It's in really rough shape, but the engine runs pretty solidly. Cosmetically and otherwise, it's a pretty big mess. I think it's right at 353,000 miles. Yikes. I'll try to snap some pictures tomorrow, but it really is laughable. I have faith though.
Anyway, my daily driver died and this was a cheap purchase at $400. I have a little mechanic experience, but I'm certainly not great at it.
Been doing a lot of reading and I look forward to piecing this heap back together with a little advice from the forums.

Thanks guys!
Day one with it, had to rip out all of the carpet because there has definitely been plenty of water in there. The metal below looks clean at least. My camera won't communicate with my computer for some reason.
At least the parts seem pretty cheap...I'm really excited about piecing this car back together. No junkyard close by, which sucks! Hello Ebay.

Man, the weather's been so bad I haven't been able to do much work.
I do know my trunk is leaking pretty severely, the weather stripping seems to have a gap in it right at the top, next to the third brake light. Plus the passenger rear brake light assembly is busted up so it seems to be coming in from here as well.
I've ended up removing the carpet from the interior since it was pretty waterlogged...still no luck with the box under the passenger seat as far as the belt chime.
I also wanted to see if it might have something to do with the fact that the driver's side door's seatbelt automatic mechanism isn't working...complicated by the fact that it's an entirely different door. >.<

No prob....stop by a dealership, back in that day they (Honda) had a lifetime warranty on the seat belts......the "different door" may be and issue but worth a try.
Yea, for some reason the right/pass rear tail light gasket seems to leak? Once you score a new tail light, be sure to clean the body and light side....then either get a new gasket or apply a bead of silicone to both sides of the old one.
