92 Honda Accord sucking me dry

Hi folks,

I have a 92 Honda accord that sat around for approx. 1yr. I recently brought the car back on the road. I did a tune up (plugs, wires, filters the works). My AC was working fine for a few days then all of a sudden it stopped. I checked the belts and found the AC compressor belt broken. This is the same belt that drives the alternator, so now I'm dead in the water b/c the alternator is no longer charging the battery.
I had the belt replaced, and the everything worked fine for a day then the AC went out again.
I checked the belt and its fine, except for the belt is moving extremely slow compared to the power steering belt.
I had a mechanic look at the problem and he suggested replacing the alternator. I did that and the same problem still exists.

I've already spend a fortune on this car and its getting worst. Would anyone happen to know what my next move should be or what the apparent problem is ?

Thanks for your help.

Check the A/C compressor. Is it possible it seized and is causing the belt to drag?

I'd agree... Sounds like your A/C is causing the issue... You can try to get a belt for a car without A/C and skip the compressor, get a new compressor or a junk yard take off and/or start some diagnosing... The cheapest fix would be to get the Non-A/C belt and put that on and go without it. Or go to the search up top and type in "free Manual" and you'll find a post that contains a link to get free manuals that you can use for more advance trouble shooting/proper diagnoses...

welcome to the forums....i think your a/c compressor might be messed up...check that out and work from there.
