whining noise in steering making sweeping turns like on a freeway. Sounds like a dog whining and it sounds like its inside the cabin. Mechanic said my rack is leaking too. Is this the cause? Or is there a bushing in steering column that needs to be replaced. Otherwise it steers fine except when it is cold outside at first start up, a little stiff.

Have you changed out the PS Fluid - be sure to ONLY use Honda/Acura approved fluid?

Are there "signs" of leaking from the rack, it would leave "spots" on the driveway?
