Default 94 Honda Accord A/C issue

I tried to find this issue on other threads to no avail. I am also new to this forum and forums in general so I ask for patience.

Issue- 94 Accord LX ac compressor clutch stays engaged when AC is on and doesn't ever cycle off along with the fans doing the same thing. No issues with cooling the motor or cold AC however I understand all those components staying on isn't a good thing as it can wear out components and make your mpg suffer. I am noticing less mpg but it's hot so I'm running the AC a lot. Thanks in advance for help!

Have you added any Freon could be overfilled. If not you will have to start doing electrical tests

Thank you for your reply! I actually did a complete evacuate and recharge not too long ago. As I understand from the sticker I tried to stay around 22 ounces of charge. Are these AC systems really picky about the charge amount? Could it only be an overfill situation? I can adjust the charge amount if I need and I also have a gauge set to get readings. What would you recommend first?

Put the guages on and see what your readings are with the a/c on. You should be between 45-50 low side and around 200-225 high side. I'm assuming the temp there is between 80-85

The last time I had the gauges on the low side read about that range. 45 for the low and around just a hair under 200 for the high. That was with it being that ambient temp. However that was almost a week ago, tomorrow I will hook up the gauges again and get a current reading so I can have solid numbers to go off of.

Okay I just took readings. Ambient temp was around 82 Fahrenheit and humidity around 32 percent. Low side = 25 High side = Just over 200. As the car sat at idle the high side very gradually dropped to around 180, stabilized, then very slowly started going back up. Low side pretty much stayed the same reading the entire time. If anything fluctuating in between 20 to 30.

What were the steps taken to fill.

The steps I take

-Evac and hold at -30 for 30 mins
-Turn a/c on high settings windows down
-Have someone hold pedal at 1500 rpms (just what I do and puts me around 19f when done)
-fill at 22 oz (make sure you bleed the line before opening the low side for fill)
- once done you should be around 45 lowside and less than 225 highside
- check vent temps (should be in the 20s)

I did exactly that minus holding the revs up. I just made sure the engine was to operating temp. Vent temp won't get down below 32

Well you are below industry standards. I don't like those readings though. You still have the issue with it not cycling on and off. Are you sure it's suppose to? You may be looking at a bad relay. Pull the relay to see if it disengage. If it does then you have a problem before the relay it is doesn't then it's after the relay (bad wire). Does the clutch work along with the a/c button?
