Bought my 2nd Honda
I purchased an 07 Accord last weekend with the 2.4 and the manual transmission. My family outgrew the Saturn we've been running the last 5 years with 167,000 miles. The Accord has 38,000 miles and got 29 mpg with the first tank of gas we ran through. Shifts really nice and seems to have plenty of power. My wife likes the leather seats and the rear deck lid while the kids like the radio and all the room in the back seat. Any issues to be aware of? When I called Honda out in California asking how to get another key made the gentleman there mentioned a bulletin regarding the low beams on the headlights could be a problem.
I had an 89 Honda CRX 5 speed pretty many years ago that I loved! Odometer broke at 193,000 miles, didn't use a drop of oil and ran like a top!! Hope this Accord will be around for awhile.
I read in the owners manual that the oil plug washer should be replaced every time you change oil. Is this really needed and where do I get them? Dealer I suppose.
Hope to get and give some good information on the forum.
Thanks,
Scott

Welcome!
My 2003 has gotten as good as 40 mpg, once, on a good long interstate drive. About 30 was about normal when my daughter had a longer commute to school. Now she lives just off campus, drives only a mile or so, and gets 22-24-ish.
Never had a problem with the headlights at all.
I have always hated how grabby the brakes are. Daughter likes it that way.
Issues:
- AC condensor corroded & was replaced under warranty.
- The book says to change the manual tranny oil every 120k miles (!!). I changed mine at about 50k miles & it was a bit dirty. So I would not go too much more than 50k miles on that interval.
I re-use the drain plug washer a couple times before throwing it away. But they're pretty cheap at the dealer.
