Brand new to Accords
Just bought my accord about 1 month ago. I LOVE IT! its a 2001 Honda accord coupe with the V6 i'm pretty sure it is the EX the only problems i have with it is the color which is going to change and the transmission is weird it revs up then goes into gear sometimes but i have learned to deal with it (mostly on hills). also looking for good cheap ways to get as much as i can out of the car speed wise any good ideas would be welcome this is a sorta budget car since i have to pay for schooling on top of all the other wonderful expenses that come with the car (insurance, gas, gas, and did i mention gas)
You could try some fluid changes for the transmission. Use Honda ATF (yes it's different) and drain/fill.
That's a somewhat fragile transmission, so if you do anything to increase power, you can add transmissions to your list of expenses.

i was going to change the fluid its a little burnt but the problem is i looked in the owners manual and it doesn't say how to fill all of the other cars i've driven and taken care of its through the same hole as the dip stick but this one is so far down in the engine and such a small hole that i don't want to mess it up so i haven't tried anything yet. but yea i have a feeling its going to go soon but until then i'm going to just focus on visual so that all my work doesn't go to waste if it dies which apparently happens with this generation a lot
The V6 trans might have a fill plug, but filling thru the dipstick is OK too. Long funnel...
Unlike a lot of other car brands, Honda does NOT want you to check ATF level with the engine idling. Warm up the engine/trans, then turn it off & check while it's still hot.

There is a "fill bolt" on top of the trans.....some of these had an "oil jet" kit installed so the bolt might look more like a "fitting" than a bolt. "EXV6NIGHTHAWK" posted some pic's of his, with the oil jet, a while back.
