what years are compatible with a 99 accord?? will parts off a 89 work

Check car-part.com. It shows other donor years for selected parts.

1989 is so much different that I expect almost nothing will be compatible.

Or maybe you meant 1998 to 1999? Very similar so most parts would be OK.

But the old 3rd gens (86-89) were kind of nice .

ok maybe i should be more specific will an front axle for an 89 prelude fit an 99 accord??

No, the cv shaft from the 89 prelude will not fit the 99 Accord.
