Driver door not locking on 93 accord

Driver door not locking on 93 accord

My drivers door will not lock when the door is open, if it’s shut the door will lock fine. Even if I depress the door switch in the door jam it still won’t lock. I’m just confused on what the problem is.

It is a normal function to prevent inadvertently locking yourself out. You have to hold the driver's door handle open and then lock it.
