Default Engine warning light

Hi there,

Recently bought 2.0 litr, Auto accord in Ireland (1999 model). Car runs beautifully and I'm very happy with it. Yesterday, she took a few attempts
to start (never usually a problem) and i thought the battery might be going? But a few minutes later the orange engine warning light came on.

Is there anything simple I could try before taking the car to a garage to be diagnosed?

Regards

Derek

While trying to start, was the starter cranking strongly but the engine didn't fire up?

Over there, are there autoparts stores that have OBD-2 code readers? Here, it's usually free to read the error code, since they hope you'll buy some parts from them. If so, post back with the actual code number.

Yes, it sounded like it wasn't going to start but eventually kicked in?

Ill contact a garage tomorrow to see if I can get the diagnostics done and send on the code when I get it. Thanks for your help.

Derek
