Howdy y'all!
I'm Mike, and I bought a 97 accord ex-r just last month, and the car is earning the title "valdeez" because it leaks oil like the engine is made of screen. I will post with pics in the tech section.
I live in the florida keys and work at a marina. I have a 16 year old black lab and an 89 chevy silverado standard cab long bed in addition to the accord.
Thanks in advance for being out there to help folks with these great little cars.

The dog and the truck are both reliable friends.
Is that a cockatiel? My mom had birds when I was a kid. They're cool pets.
Pics will come soon, thanks.

Hey, smaglik, do you think the 2.7 v6 is a p.o.s.?
I am finding little info on this engine, is it unpopular, small production run, or what?
Have you read about this topic elsewhere in the forum?
thanks.

i do not think so. I think it didnt sell that much because it didnt have that great a jump in hp over the i4 (140 to 170 i think), making it a smaller part of the population.

00accordlx5pd has one....i am sure he'll chime in...

Thanks! I'm feeling better to hear that at least ONE other forum user has that engine.
The car is great, but the mechanical difficulties are many. Once I do the big stuff, the car will be driveable again. It is on the ramps at home now, waiting diagnosis and repairs.
I got some good pics of the engine this morning, and when the car is off the ramps I will wash it and post pics of it in the signature line.
Pimp has inspired me to find a good pic of my dog (Pearl) and use that as my avatar, instead of my ugly mug.
Those pesky customers are in my office again, gotta go for now.

I'm chiming in.
Yes there are a few other members on here with 95-97 model V6's. I am quickly learning my way around the engine bay of this V6. Small things keep going wrong with it - nothing major. Hopefully we will be able to help each other out in the future.
Welcome to the forum.
Oh...and watch out for smaglik... he will teabag you when you least expect it.
