I'm having trouble with a binding break. The front drivers side wheel gives off a burning smell whenever I park up. I own a 2001 SE Executive, and I was wondering if this is a common problem. I'm now getting 290 miles per tank, as opposed to 360 previously. Can anyone help????
You'll want to get the caliper off to check it out. Make sure the caliper slider pins are OK, maybe clean & grease them so they move nice.
Then check how the brake pads fit into the caliper bracket. Sometimes they are wedged so tight they cause the brakes to drag. May have to file off the ends or wherever they stick. Little bit of brake grease where the pads slide in the caliper bracket.
