Default hello

hello guys, im a 19 year old college student who is looking for a car of his own. talked to my fam a bit and they told me hondas and nissans are good starting cars...so im really just trying to do some research. im not really that good with cars (fixing and upgrading) but that is something I would definitely be interested in learning how to do.

I am interested in the Accord Ex Coupe - Manual - '99-'02- something within the price range of $3000 - $7000. so any suggestions would be nice. Also, i didnt really see the part of this forum where you go to talk about the problems of the car...is there any general things i should look for when i go car shopping (a good 6 - 8 months from now :'( ). Thanks in advance!

Default RE: hello

welcome .... good choice .... most topics have been covered including pros and cons .... at the top of the page is a search link and you can find most info through that .... also, for more advanced reading, look at the DIY section .... it will give you an idea of some common problems and how major they are .... use Wikipedia to find the years that go with the generations, search for "Honda Accord" there. Stay away from 5th and 6th gen V6's. The 4 bangers are more reliable as are manual trannies. Other than 00accordlx5spd, it seems that the 5th gen's are more reliable than the 6th gens.
