Default Hey there...

Hello everyone.

Currently, my wife and I own a 2001 Accord EX V6. It has about 120K on it, but it runs like a champ. I've owned my share of Hondas, ('85 CRX Si, '93 Integra LS, '95 Accord EX, '05 Civic Si), and I'm wondering if I may want to just turn this into a project car here in the next year or so. The wife drives it now, but will begin working locally so I figure I will be nice and bequeath my '12 Passat, (I work for VW), to her. That being said, I will inherit the Accord. I am debating whether this car is worth me throwing the money into to modify instead of purchasing another new car. It feels like it has potential, but I am not a fan of the trans. There have been no problems with it, but as I have seen on some of the threads here I have browsed, people do seem to eventually have problems. As well, I would be more inclined to swap it out for another auto, (I have read here that a manual conversion can be a costly bitch), preferrably a 5 or 6 speed tip.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the forum.

In my opinion the v6s are not worth modifying, you will find there isnt much in the way of aftermarket parts for them, and any type of manual or auto swap is going to be costly and involve a lot of work. But that is just my opinion, it all depends on how much time and money you want to put into the car, and how much the car means to you.
