Default Hi.. :)

Hi everyone,

I have actually owned a Honda Accord for about 4 years now. I had a 1994 Accord up until a few months ago when someone drive into me and wrote it off. At its age it was still going strong. I then decided to go and buy another one. Its a bit newer at 2001. But its great, i really enjoy driving them.

I understand that but sadly the 98-02 Accords had some of the worst auto trans failure rates ever.

You really should have your auto drained and filled with Genuine Honda ATF and then do it again every 15K miles.

Do not ever have the trans 'power flushed' and never let anyone put in any fluid except genuine Honda ATF.

Hopefully you get lucky as some people never have a problem.

Good luck to you and your car!

Thats interesting, ill look into that. I bought the car a few months ago, and it has a full service history. I think it was one owner and he was very good with it. The car is emaculate. But i should definitely have a look at this, will probably be a very good investment. Thanks

Aylesbury in UK? Welcome to the forum.

Just so you know, your Swindon-built Accord is a different car than the 2001 Accord we get in USA. But I think the transmission is probably the same...
