I need help or advise on my car.

I got an accident and my rear bumper cover got damaged, which would need replacement. I think I will fix it without insurance, and I am wondering if I can fix it by sending the car back to factory? Or, is the body shop the only option?

If body shop is the only option, how can I tell if they replace the bumper with OEM part? Just asking them if they used OEM? As long as I cannot tell if it is OEM or aftermarket part when they lie that it is OEM but it is actually aftermarket, why would they use OEM?

 

You could bring it to the dealer. You could also buy a bumper cover at the dealer and then bring it to a body shop and get it painted.
