Hello to Everyone. I'm a proud owner ofa Green 1999 Accord LX 5 speed. I had the car since 2002 30K mileswhen I was 20 years old. Now I'm 27 and 180K miles later, I'm surprise how this car withstand me all that time.Do you remember how reckless 20 year olds drive?I've only replaced a CV axle (175K miles), a pair of front brakes (110K miles),a battery, and of course timing belt and water pump. Yes! clutch, slave and master cylinder and all original.Oh yeah, I love the low end torque.I actually turn downbuying a RX8becausethe LOW END torque could not match myaccord.Seriously I could not believe it either. At 2K rpm 6th gear I press the gas and it didn't budge! My accord actually feels quicker then my wife's 2003 TL.But I know many will disagree with me, which is totally cool. We all have different luck with cars.

My goal for this car: to be as reliable, stock clean, quite, and efficient as possible. Now my car is starting to show signs that it needs a little TLC such as rough idleing. I plan to utilize this site for many DIY info (thanks in advance) as I plan to take my engine out in the summer and do the timing belt, water pump, cleaning EGR valve, clean throttle body, and other hard to reach places. Maybe I should replace the fuel filter as well? Please let me know if you have any other suggestions that I should do as a preventenance maintenance. Otherwise, I'm glad to find this site and hope to contribute something.

Just incase you're wondering why I'm so boring, I got a 1jz sc300 manual swap by me.

The current plan for the sc300 1jz is to have it stock, reliable and a garage queen. I'm working on saving for a set of 19"deep dish rims.A buddy told me that's what everyones' plan until they get beat! LOL... Of course it'll get beat by a civic but we'll see about that on the hwy. But my style is either do it right or don't do it at all.

The accord, no swaping plans for now. I'm afraid I'll have major torque steer issue if I beef up that engine. And I really like the harmony of that engine. Maybe if it gets old, I'll go the NA route with that car. Other then performance, I've always been obsesed with car audio. Right now, I'm running Kappa's all around and a polk momo sub powered by alpine. I must be getting old or something. I'm starting to listen to NPR radiomore and more now.
