I'm an owner of a new (old) Accord!
Hello,
I just wanted to see the community of Accord owners. I recently purchased a 4-cylinder 2001 Accord with 87,000 miles (I've put 2.5k on it on my own in 4 weeks!), and since I drive it for 2 hours every day, I figured I might as well get the most out of it.
I've been pretty happy so far with it, although I've only managed 27.5 to 28.5 mpg. I just changed spark plugs today, and I have also thrown injector cleaner into the gas tank for it to get to work over the next few days.
I'm going to be browsing through all the threads to see what people recommend new Accord owners, but if you have anything specific you want to tell me feel free to help!

Welcome... Is your accord an automatic??? If so, your mpg rating is only 23city/30hwy... So 27/28 is not bad...

It is automatic, with a F23A5 engine. The problem is, for every mile I drive city, I drive 45 highway (I work a bit more than an hour away from my house).
I'm also trying to figure out why the engine really spins up for about a second before I get the power when the accelerator is down (this isn't my normal driving style, just on the rare occasion that I need to pass someone).
