just bought my first import.
i just picked up my 1990 accord for the sum of $800. Its a 4dr, 5spd car. the previous owner had put a system in it but when he sold me the car he had pulled out the stereo, except for the 4 amps under the front How dood seats. Anyways, I plan on using this car as a daily driver until i go to iraq. After iraq it will go through paint and interior mods. Then some simple upgrades to the engine. I know the car needed new struts so i am considering prdering a set of tein basic coilovers and front and rear strut tower braces. How good are the tein basics? After those components get installed it will be time for a chikara header, and full 2 1/4" exhaust from the header back. i also have an injen cold air intake on order. Does anyone know of a short throw shifter for this year accord? Any other mod ideas for more power and better handling will be greatly appreciated.

Welsome to the forum and good luck in Iraq.
Are you looking to simply shorten the shift throw or do you want the stick to be shorter as well? I'm not sure if they make the whole shift lever for the 1990 Accords, but try Googling it. There should be plenty of short shift adapters out there, which will shorten the throw by about 30-40%. I have one on my 2000 Accord and it does work. Since I cannot find a true short shift lever for my 2000 Accord I am going to eventually cut the stick about 2 inches and re-thread it with a tap & die set (I will only need the dies, but I might as well buy the whole set). Here's a DIY link for cutting the shifter: http://filtsai.com/accord/cut_shifter/index.php

I don't understand why he pulled the deck but left those nice amps...mmm JL
EDIT: If you're interested in selling the JL I might be interested in buying if the price is right. What model are they?
