Family has had 88LX, 2 89LX's, 1 90LX coupe, 2 93 coupes (1LX, 1EX, still have the EX), 94LX coupe (still have) 98EX (still have), 2000LX (still have), 2002 Civic EX. 07 Civic LX (still have).
None of them have ever seen a shopoutside of scheduled maint except for my 93 coupe.
Dad got my sister her first Honda in 88, then mom wanted one, thenDad got one, then I got one. Still driving my 93 EX coupe with 305K on it andstill ticking. Looks like heck but it gets me around andhas never broken down on me. Iffact, I've done scheduled maint,I'm on my 3rd set of brake pads (original rotors), replaced the main fuel relay, replaced the radiator about a year ago, and the clutch slave cylinder about the sametime. That's it! Still original engine, tranny, clutch,axle/CV joints, A/C, alt, starter etc etc. Not bad for a 15 year old car that was raced/abused when I was young and dumb. The thing just doesn't want to die.
I've also got a 2000 LX 4 door (much nicer for the kids) that I bought from my Mom when she got her 07 Civic. It's an automatic too so the wife can drive it.
I found this while looking for a timing belt write-up and looks like some good info on here!
