Hi all...proud owner of a 1996 Honda Accord EX V6 here. A little history on the car...I purchased the car 8 years ago from the original owner (elderly lady who couldn't drive anymore). The car had 39,000 miles at the time. I bought it for my cousin who needed another car. He drove the car for 6 years and put about 17,000 miles on it (I made sure that routine maintenance was performed on it while he owned it). 2 years ago HE had to quit driving due to health problems and I bought the car with 56,000 miles. After getting it I went through the car and drained and replaced all fluids (including power steering,brake fluid and anti-freeze), replaced the timing belt and water pump (due to age), accessory belts, radiator hoses, plugs, wires, brake pads, rotors and struts. I 've used the car for my job (I drive 30-35,000 miles a year) and it's mostly highway driven (I live in an area where the roads are paved 2 lane with a 55 mph speed limit so the car rarely sees more than 65 mph). The car now has 122,000 miles and runs great. I've NEVER had anything go wrong with the car...even the original A/C is still cold! The car is absolutely rust free (thanks to frequent washing and annual rustproofing from Krown in Canada...that stuff really works) and I've had a few offers to buy it but I'm not selling at this time. At reasonable highway speeds, I have gotten as much as 30 mpg in the summer (usually around 27-28 mpg) which I think is pretty good for this car. The car is bone stock (except for the window tint and leather steering wheel cover I added) and I hope to get several more years of reliable service from it. Welcome! Sounds like you have a great car. Would love to see some photos- I believe the sizing guidelines are posted on the 'photos' section of the forums. What kind of problems are you having?
