Cool movin' over from Gen5

Since it seems like the Gen5 forums will not be coming back up anytime soon I am in need of a new accord forum to call home.

Name's Amanda, currently living in Anchorage, Alaska (I grew up a military brat and this ended up being the place we were stationed and I decided to stay here). I've had my accord since '03 from my parents (they bought it in '99). I started out with a '90 Geo Storm 5spd, then '00 Focus ZX3 5psd (see the pattern? no autos for this girl).

I've got a '97 Accord LX 5psd. It just rolled over to 180,000 on the original motor. Here's the list of work that's been done:
  • JDM Prelude Transmission w/ LSD (need to rebuild original still for backup)
  • short intake w/ K&N filter
  • upper front & rear strut bars
  • full Megan Racing suspension
  • HKS muffler, need to build the rest of the exhaust system
  • test pipe in place of the catalytic converter
  • AEM by Nissin brakes up front (EX rear conversion will be done eventually)
  • braided brake lines, running racing brake fluid (it's blue - it freaked the dealership out!)
  • in winter runs on customer (self) painted 17's with a 225/45/17 tire (currently Kumo's, but prefer Potenza)
  • DEPO headlights with HID
  • ESUSE fog lights
  • headlight eyebrows
  • cleared out orange from tail lights
  • Stanley (100% authentic off an Accord in Japan) front side markers
  • mugen-type upper grille
  • wings west touring kit (at the paint shop) - or I run a m-type front lip

Car was just repainted this April in black piano. The interior is next on my list of major updates to do, along with a timing belt and some general maintenance. My husband and I have been in talks of possibly putting a turbo system on the car (he's into DSM's so it works out perfect) but we need to finish up small things on my car, get our EVO III fixed, and then pick up another daily driver first.

It's currently my year-round daily driver, and occasionally we run it at an autocross since it has the suspension built to handle like a champ.

it's a true coil-over damper setup, not individual strut + spring setup (which before we used KYB AGX + some random spring i don't remember).
Megan Racing

the eyelids are the cheap ABS ones you can by everywhere, I get mine from tasauto.com - we had them painted to match the car instead of leaving ABS plastic black. They flow nicely into the grill.

That actually isn't a whole lot of body lean compared to what the car is stock, trust me I've seen my car with more body lean that that. That's actually the autocross that broke the stock differential and the reason why we moved to a prelude LSD transmission I think at that time we had the suspension softened up slightly and not 100% stiff, plus we weren't running potenza tires which grip better than the KUMO's that were on it.

lol wow thats the same coil over set i am looking into getting!

i have Firehawk GT tires, but i dont autox.. have yet to get them to break loose though, so meh.

Firestone/Bridgestone make nice tires for sure.

so the f22b2 is still in there or do u have a matching h22?

im looking to swap in a prelude 5spd then do the h22a1 engine swap

Nope I'm running my original factory f-motor, it paired up perfectly to the h-series transmission, no modifications needed (that i now of, my hubby and friend did the swap for me).

The tires i usually run are 225/45/17 - we had to replace mine (they were past cording) and have 205/50/17 for my temporary set right now. We can't do much bigger than that right now but hey that's plenty more than what the stock 185 is!

Also got my lip kit parts back from being painted. started raining so no pics of it on the car. We only put the front & rear up, no sides. It's a Wings West Touring kit. Cleanest I could find that is poly-u to survive our roads and winters.

all the pieces in the car!
