Default N.E. OHIO Cyclist and Shooter

First off, a big "Thank You!" to the forum for helping me solve the AC clutch issue on my 2009 Accord.

I also own a 2005 CR-V, a 1988 Jeep Cherokee, a 1985 Pontiac Fiero with 21K, a 1989 Ford Ranger and a 1993 Chevy S10. Then there's my two diesel New Holland farm tractors and the three Cub Cadet garden tractors. I have a few Harleys, but sold the Suzuki GSXR-1100 in an effort to stay alive. Old, slow reflexes and Superbikes is a bad combination! Yes, I do a lot of oil changes!

I used to have a 1986 CRX and that was one of the best cars I've owned. The reliability made me a believer in Honda vehicles.

My passion are road cycling and shooting. I am 61 years old and this is my 45th year of training and racing road bicycles.

I'm a target shooter and a hunter. I've been a life long resident of Ohio, but hope to spend my retirement Winters somewhere in Tennessee or Georgia...anywhere there is no snow!

Thank you for joining HAF.

Also glad you got the AC going....saw your last post about the relays. My "shrug" was about the pic, should have been clear. Me and the manual I have for the 8th Gen's don't get along sometimes . Guess I need to buy a real one, hard to explain to the wife why I need it when I don't even own the car

No sweat! Anyone wearing USMC camo is all right by me.

I also have to get a good manual for the Accord. As you can tell by the ages of some of those vehicles listed above, I tend to keep them going for a long time.

I have to be clear, my avatar is a pic of my oldest son when he graduated from OCS USMC.

If you want a manual, I have had great luck with "www automanualsource dot com". You can get a CD shipped for ~$27. last I looked they had them for the 8th gen Accord's, one for the four cyl and another for the six cyl.

Ah! My nephew has 37 days left on a 5-year hitch with the Corps. Two deployments to those sandy lands in the news. SAW gunner for his squad. I spoke with him by phone this afternoon after he had just returned from the rifle range. He qualified expert again, first time he had to use the M4.

Thanks for the manual recommendation. I'll check it out. Autozone did not even sell that particular relay and Advance had to order it for me. No biggee.

Just noticed your '66 Chevelle. Niiiiice!

Cyclist with "campy" in the username, so I expected to read about Campagnolo components on your bicycles. Not the same kind of cyclist...
So, WELCOME to HAF anyway

Good catch...er...choice, Jim! CAMPAGNOLO!

I was given the nick 'CampyBob' back in 1972. Long before the other type of 'campy' was discussed! Heheh!

Yes, I have ridden mostly Campagnolo components and wheels over my amateur career. Don't tell anyone, but I bought a TREK Emonda last December with <Gasp!> shimaNO on it! It's decent stuff and I especially like the carbon Ultegra pedals I put on it...BUT...it does not have the...the...the...passion and precision of Campy, nor is it anywhere near the pure art that the Italians do so well.

Wife No. 3, as well as the two ex's, will testify to my Campy addiction and my distinct lack of campiness!

WheelBrokerAng, thank you kindly! I can only hope to repay the knowledge given to me in my post about the AC not working! I installed a Taiwan-made relay from Advance and after sitting all day in the 85 degree sunshine and high humidity the Accord chilled down in just a few minutes.

Well, the rain is two hours off according to WeatherUnderground. Time to hammer out 20 or so miles and do some sweating!

Regards!
