Default New 08 Owners saying Hi!

Just registered and wanted to introduce myself. I'm a longtime member and moderator over at thecarlounge.net (formerly the VW Vortex) as well as IH8MUD.com. I'm president of the New England chapter of the TLCA, Yankee Toys and a professional graphic Designer by trade here at a small ad agency in Vermont.

Long day of test driving other makes and getting accosted by horrible dealers, but we came home with an 08 Accord LX-5spd after an awesome sales experience and solid deal at Gerrish Honda in Lebanon NH, HUGE props to that outfit, first rate.

Cheers. [sm=gears.gif]

Went back and edited my first post, not sure what happened there but it was all messed up.

Did about 100 miles though the great state of Vermont today. Car was really nice to drive, never once fidgeted in my seat either, very comfortable and supportive. The family (son, wife and I) all had plenty fo room and comfort.

Now that I'm getting used to the featherweight clutch, shifting is great. After 7 years of rubbery Mazda shifters the Honda stick is a godsend. It's weird how the electronic throttle "hangs" the revs though, I need to work on my shifting technique. Took it up to about 5k rpms a couple of times today, the power builds quickly up there but I'm trying to take it really easy for the first 500-600 miles.

I've decided to swap the stock Dunlops for a set of same-size Nokian WR's right away, about the only true all-season tire out there. With the sale of my Mazda's snows, and hopefully some credit for my OEM tires, it should be pretty much a wash moneywise and I'll feel a lot better driving this winter. Hoping to find somebody's take off EX 17" alloys later on for summer tires if my wallet will cooperate.

Pics....... I can see why some people see a 5-series influence, especially from the rear 3/4 view.

He's always in his big boy 5 point seat and harness. A lot of his friends have moved to regular boosters using the regular belts but this seat is rated to 80lbs. and as long as he fits properly it it (he's a 55 lb. 5 year old), he'll be in the 5 point. Safety first.
