New Accord Owner
Hey, I don't actually have an Accord yet, but I'm currently in the process of picking up a 95 Accord EX. I don't plan on doing much to it because it's going to be used primarily for commuting. The paint is pretty beat up on it, swirl marks and chips everywhere, so I'm going to do my best at restoring it. I figured I'd join up on an Accord forum because the car desperately needs stock wheels and I figured this would be a good place for fixes and such.
I currently drive a turbo Scion tC, and it's just becoming a PITA to daily drive it. It's a 2 seater, so I can't drive it with friends, it makes too much power for 1st 2nd and 3rd gear, it guzzles down premium gas (can't stay out of boost lol), etc.
Here is the Accord I'm getting. If I have it by this weekend, I'm probably going to get some restoration products and try to get this car looking semi-new again.
And here are a few shots of my tC.

Thanks, and I already bought a new set of wheels for the Accord. Didn't feel like searching around for a used set of wheels so I just decided to get a new set. Picked up some Motegi SP10, 15x7 with some Yokohoma Avid tires.
I think I might also pick up a set of the black housing headlights because my D/S light is really fogged, plus I think the stock headlights look out of place on a black car...they're too bright.

Just got finished restoring the paint. The hood was a disaster and took me almost 2 hours to clean/clay/buff/polish/wax. It's still has a little blemish on it, but it's nowhere near what it was. It looks brand new compared to before.
The nasty hood blemish. The paint had no reflection to it at all. The left side is wet, the right side is dry. This is after cleaning the car.
A close up shot of the paint. Horrible condition, almost no reflection in the paint.
A straight on shot with me in the reflection. Shows just how horrible the blemish is.
After thoroughly cleaning the car, I clay barred it. This is just after doing 1/4 of the hood.
Finally got the chance to use my orbital buffer. Applied Meguiars Color X to the paint. It almost completely restored the color alone. I followed with paint cleaner, polish and wax, then re-did the Color X for another restoration. The Color X said it's a cleaner, polish and wax all in one, so it would act as a protectant.
After the first application of Color X. The hood finally has a reflection! Still nowhere near good enough for me though.
Another shot after the first application. As you can see here, there is still a section where it's blemished.
After everything, glass like finish.
Enough with the hood. I moved on to the rest of the car, which wasn't that bad. After Cleaner, Polish, Wax and Color X. A nice clear reflection. The distortion is from an uneven layer of paint.
A nice clear reflection.
A little closer.
All finished! Look at that shine. 14 years old and all it needed was a few hours of TLC to look new again.
