alright so it's official im getting a car, and unless something happens which i don't know why it would it's going to be an accord coupe. I already had one planned out and everything and my mom went to the dealership and it was on the auction lot. Luckily it didn't sell though. Only problem is my moms all for the stick and my dad isn't

Manual transmission is really the way to go, you would regret getting an automatic. Good luck with the car, and welcome to the site.

Just want to ask one more thing on the manual vs. automatic. Most of my driving will be city, would you still recommend me getting a manual?

Yes if you actually care about driving, there is no alternative. There will be some days in stop and go traffic that you wish you had a slushbox, but for the most part you will not be disappointed.

alright well do you have any sites that have statistics that show there is no difference, if not a positive difference, in safety of driving a stick over automatic, in effort to convince my dad

I've never heard of one being safer than the other. This gives the basic advantages:

I meant for a new driver. Like taking more attention. My dad is worried I will try to shift while eating or on the cell phone, and things like that
