So, my name is Jordan, I'm 17, and I live in Ohio. Another thing is that I'm rather tall, about 6'6", and as aficionados of the Accord know, they have lots of leg/headroom, and despite being tall, I fit comfortably into Accords. Originally, I wanted a Mustang, because they are fast and cool and all that jazz. Admittedly, I'd still like one. The problems with me obtaining a Mustang were numerous and difficult, like reliability, cost, insurance, safety, concern of mother, etc.
My dad suggested that instead I look at Honda Accords. He drove a 1978 Chevy Nova into the ground (it didn't take long), got fed up with it, and bought a Honda Accord, and has driven them since 1986. My stepdad has also owned various Hondas, (several Accords, an Integra, and I think a Civic somewhere in there) and is currently driving an '04 V6. Needless to say, I have a pro-Honda family. He also mentioned that he and my mother would be willing to contribute a lot more to a Honda Accord than a Ford Mustang. As I have been riding my bike everywhere for the past few years, I was quite ready to agree to just about anything.
Today we drove about two hours north of here, in my dad's '02 Silver Accord, to look at the Accord we found on Autotrader, it looked clean, they brought money. 2000, ex-v6, coupe, dark green, tan leather interior. Minor cosmetic damage, with a few small dings and paint chips and little stuff, but nothing important. Mechanically it's perfect for a car with 120 thousand miles on it. We took it for a test drive, we all took turns driving it, we all liked it, and my dad and step-dad (they're on good terms. It's a little awkward, but no anger is there) decide to buy it, discuss bargaining strategy, and we make the offer, they take it, and we go to the bank to switch the title, and I get to drive home in my own Honda Accord =].
