Hello all:

finally took delivery yesterday of my 2013 Accord coupe EX manual. Colour is black, hence my username ! A picture is attached. It was a rough purchase experience from local dealership. I have to drop it off at dealership tomorrow to get paint scratches fixed ;-( Just finished removing greasy handprint stain from interior fabric.

What a ride, all the electronic toys, just love it. I graduated from a Honda civic which served me so well.

I plan to make improvements to the security of this vehicle, since my civic was stolen recently. As I'm good with electronics, I'll be looking to similar minded members for info on this car's wiring.

that's it for now, nice to be here.

Welcome to the forum.

Your 2013 Accord EX comes with a security system and the Immobilizer system.

What year was your Honda Civic? As earlier generation Hondas did not have the Immobilizer system and certain model trims did not have the security system of the flashing lights and horn sounding.

Welcome to the lower half of the North American continent.

Thank YOU for joining..like the picture of your car..only thing I'd like to see on her is a set of killer chrome shiney rims.

redbull:

previous car was 2000 civic, very easy to steal. After I saw damage that was done (police recovered it), it was clear to me how they stole from under my nose as my wife and I slept not 30 ft from it ! I fixed it up and gifted to family member.

My opinion is the best security feature is one no one knows about. Factory and 3rd party systems are inherently "public", and eventually defeated given enough effort.
