Newbie here need some advice please
Whats up Guys. Im new to this forum. My name is Matt.
I am in the market for a used 2005 accord. I am about to buy one with 84762 miles on it its the Ex V6 3.0L leather interier xm radio, power seats, spoiler from the manufacturer on it. Took a test drive in it and i fell in love with it. I am just wondering if $12500 is a resenable price for it. I looked up all the reviews and everybody says that they love there accords. looked up bluebook and the price seems normal. Just wanted to get a opinion from some accord owners. Thanks

go to NADAguides.com if they are below retail it's an ok deal, if it's below wholesale/trade then it's an amazing deal, if it's below loan value call the person right now and buy it.
$12,500 sounds like a pretty good price though.

I just checked the book (I do financing for a dealership) and the miles are a bit high but according to the November guide (it's probably gone down a bit since then....) loan was $15,150 (roughly) but there was like -$3,600 because of the high mileage.
The end number: if you really like it then buy it, as long as there are no major defects it's a great deal! If it has a timing belt (not chain) make sure it's been changed, if it hasn't then budget about $400-$600 to get it done immedietly.

Sounds like a pretty good deal to me too. I would get a Carfax report as well as a report from a few other companies that give reports similar to Carfax (somethimes Carfax won't have something and another company might show something, and vice-versa)
The V6 still has a belt. Check the owner's manual for the belt change interval (I would be willing to bet it is every 105,000 miles or every 7 years, whichever comes first.) As sir_nasty said, plan on getting the belt, seals, & h2o pump done soon. I would try to set aside about $600 for it. When you buy the car (if you decide to buy it), if it is a Honda dealership ask them how much they charge for the service I suggested. Likely you can call around town and find a Honda Certified shop that will do it cheaper than the dealership though. Just look for one in the Yellow Pages.

Thanks for your help, the price is under the trade in value and the retail value, i talked to the salesman and thats what he said about the timing belt is its got a 100,000 interval on it so ill let it get to that and then ill change it along with the pump and all. So hopefully tonight ill b driving a accord, cant wait. What is insurance go for on that car? does anybody know like a ball park price or anything?

it's hard to ballpark insurance prices without knowing what state your in, age, driving record, marital status etc. Even then an adjuster who's not in your area would have a hard time... The salesman might know from previous buyers statements but the best way is to just logon to progressive or someone like them and get multiple quotes at once or just call an insurance office and ask.
