Hi Everyone:
New to this thread and hopes that I can get some answers. I am the original owner of a 1986 Honda Accord LXi Hatch with an automatic transmission that is no longer shifting correctly into 4th (grinding). Hope that one of the enthusiasts have run into this problem before.

Hi Poorman:
Transmission oil was changed at 40K, 90K, 125K, 145K, and at 178K and 191K when 4th went out. Reverse went out as well and oil was changed with Honda transmission fluid and reverse returned. Oil changes are just that, drained the oil and refilled. Since there is no filter nothing extra was done. Transmission has never been flushed. Not sure if this would help or harm at this point, does not slip but grinds when trying to shift into 4th so I run it in second and all is well and I keep speeds under 50 with it so it has become an in-town car.
